What is onlivetutors?

onlivetutors is an online platform which helps parents and students connect with science graduates who provide one-to-one tuition or classes. Our tutors provide one-to-one tuition through Zoom Video Sharing and Microsoft Whiteboard (all our tutors have a graphic tablet). Online tutoring removes the hassle and cost of travelling, allowing students to enjoy tuition from the comfort of their home.

How does the tuition lessons work?

In the tuition lesson, you can speak with your tutor via live audio using Zoom Video Conferencing Technology. The Tutor shares their Microsoft Whiteboard Screen with the student and teaches the lesson live. The Tutor and student can communicate with each other using a microphone. The student may also upload documents such as answered worksheets to the onlivetutors GoogleDrive for the Tutor to present the work on the Interactive Whiteboard and work through it.

How does onlivetutors ensure online safety?

Your safety online is our highest priority. Our site has been developed with this in mind, and we have a number of checks in place to ensure that you and your child remain in a safe environment at all times. These checks include a DBS check from all of our tutors. Please see our online safety guidelines.

Who are the tutors?

You can see all of our tutors here All of our tutors have achieved outstanding grades at school and are qualified science graduates from top universities. They have been personally interviewed by the founder of onlivetutors to ensure they will be able to not only teach, but inspire the students. You are also welcome to read feedback from others who have previously worked with our tutors to help you make your choice here; all parents and tutees are invited to leave feedback after each session here.

What is the onlivetutors guarantee?

If you're not completely satisfied, just let us know within 48 hours and we'll provide you with another tutor or refund you in full.

How do I begin the tutorial lesson?

After making a booking with one of our tutors at a selected time slot, you will be sent a Zoom Link via email. This will be a scheduled online video link to the time and day you selected during booking. You will be sent a SMS reminder 24 hours before your tutorial lesson. You can simply click the Zoom link and it will take you to the Zoom Video Session with the selected tutor waiting to greet and teach you.

How do I contact a tutor?

When booking a tutorial lesson, there will be a box for you to write to the tutor what topics you would like to focus on during the session. You can also contact a tutor directly from their profile on the onlivetutors members page.

How do I book an Online Lesson?

Step 1 - View our tutors profiles. Our tutors are specialised to teach in the field of their degree honours. You can see which topics they teach on the "Our Tutors" main page. Step 2 - Go to the "Book Now" page. Step 3 - Select the "Book Now" for the desired course. Step 4 - Select desired Date & Time, followed by "Next" Step 5 - Fill in the required information, followed by "Pay Now" Step 6 - Pay using Debit/Credit Card or Paypal. Step 7 - Finished! Check your e-mail for a Zoom Link that you should click a few minutes before your scheduled tuition session.

How do I cancel a Lesson

You can cancel a lesson if it's due to start in over 24 hours. This way, we have plenty of time to know that the lesson will not happen. To cancel simply let us know via email

How do I reschedule a Lesson?

If you aren't able to make the scheduled time for a lesson, you can suggest a new time to us via email ( This must be 24 hours before the lesson is due to begin.
